Description
This originally digitally hand painted, undersea landscape entitled “FantaSea Turtle” began with digitally mixed paints of teal, gold and purple and Neurographically lined waves. FAA friend, Conni Schaftenaar sent me a utube video/tutorial of procreate-compatible, ready to buy, customized brushes which got my juices flowing on viewing to revisit the pre-made brushes already in Procreate. True confessions: when I find something I love, I stay with it. I tend to discontinue venturing further out to explore. SOoo, this time after my soft blended backdrop painting, I went “in search of” and found a brush called “storm bay” in the procreate abstract brush/tool profile. To my amazement, linear swipes mixed the background colours into a lovely abstract coral garden foreground. I went to pictures of sea turtles and viewed two pages of National Geographic underwater photos to get references for the markings and the FEEL for their swimming movements. This is my own Neurographic, mid ground development of a sea turtle interpretation in Laurelland. I studied so many angles and photos, no single photograph will match this interpretation. Viewing and study were essential because I will never see these beautiful creatures in their habitat…I don’t swim let alone scuba dive..:-)) There are most likely no translucent magenta specimens under the sea either! In Laurelland, however, these beauties can be found whenever the imagination level is pure enough to spread one’s wings…and glide in one’s natural light thru coral bubbles and Colour!
While I hoped to submit this for my upcoming Neurographic contest of a FantaSea theme, too many Neurographic criteria details were lost to development. If I am able to redraw linear Neurographic beginnings, there might be a salvaged Neurographic Artpiece yet. In its current painted phase not enough remains. I DO love the product art on this though!

Outstanding work, Laurel! I can just feel the chill and thrill of the swimming turtle through the sea. this Pink vision seems joyfully READY to delve into the crystal reflections of coral and seaweed. A jewel. LF

Thank you SO much dear Marsha and Sharon…I was hoping to make undersea magic…sea turtles have myriad scale connections in fantastic patterns with the dotted patternings…they are mystical creatures to be sure. It just flowed…
